Case Studies
Below is a selection of publicity we have produced and three Case Studies. These illustrate how we have helped Public Transport operators and councils inform and educate people into leaving the car at home. While the will is often there, not knowing where to look for information outside their own locality can present obvious difficulties. Transport Marketing offers the perfect, creative yet economic solutions.

CASE STUDY A: Kent County Council and Canterbury City Council had a problem at Canterbury Tourist Information Centre with the large number of travel enquiries to places of tourist interest which they receive, much of it from foreign tourists. Solution: Great Days Out from Canterbury which gives information about some 25 places to go and lists easily understood departure and arrival times to those places. The 16 page guide includes map, illustrations and photographs with introductory text and timetable key in four languages. Result: much saving in time at the Tourist Information Centre, extra travel by bus and train and extra days spent in Canterbury.

CASE STUDY B: Brecon Beacons National Park wished to promote its bus network which currently features in various counties’ and operators’ publications but hardly ever in promotional format. Result: a leaflet which brings together information about the key places to go and see, a map showing long distance paths and cycle routes, opportunities for walks and bus routes, together with a full compliment of summarised bus timetables. All the information the public needs in one place. Briefing meeting to finished job took just six weeks including photography, illustrations etc.

CASE STUDY C:
Western Isles Council produces tidal timetables on a monthly basis for the Islands of Barra and Eriskay. The tides affect the planes (which land on the beach) and the ferries which in turn affect the connecting bus and Post Bus services. Thus there has to be a different timetable every day. The monthly publication arrives in Barra, ready for delivery with the Newspapers, often within 48 hours of the information being received by TML from Western Isles Council.

If you have a public transport promotional problem, not too much money or time, and wish to do something about it, then ask us for a solution and a quotation. Or you may already know what you want to do. We can help in those instances too.

We always remember who your publicity is for.
